This week, our 3s–5s embarked on a joyful learning adventure with The Very Hungry Caterpillar! Each day, we immersed ourselves in the story and brought it to life through hands-on activities that sparked creativity, learning, and fun.

On Monday and Tuesday, we created colorful caterpillars by gluing tissue paper onto circles, then carefully assembling them on paper to watch our caterpillars come to life. On Wednesday, we made beautiful coffee filter butterflies and hung them around the room, transforming our space into a fluttering display of color and imagination. On Thursday and Friday, we enjoyed delicious fruit bowls inspired by the story. The children practiced fine motor skills using tongs and spoons as they created their own healthy, caterpillar-style snacks.

What a wonderful week of learning, creativity, and discovery!

When we return to our first love, Jesus, we are not simply going back to old habits or routines. We are returning to a close relationship with the One who loves us most. Jesus never stops loving us, even when we drift away. When we repent, seek Him, and place Him back at the center of our lives, we experience many blessings that come from walking closely with Him.

Returning to our first love is one of the best decisions we can make. Jesus is always waiting with open arms, ready to restore, renew, and strengthen us. The rewards of drawing near to Him are far greater than anything the world can offer.

Do you remember how excited you were when you first learned about Jesus and His love for you? Maybe you wanted to pray constantly, read your Bible, worship, and tell others about Him. In Revelation 2:4-5, Jesus reminds us not to lose our first love. Sometimes distractions, busyness, and life's challenges can cause us to drift away from Him. The good news is that Jesus always welcomes us back. Today, we will learn practical ways to return to our first love and strengthen our relationship with Him.

Returning to our first love is not about perfection. It is about intentionally drawing near to Jesus and allowing Him to transform our hearts. No matter how far we may have drifted, Jesus lovingly invites us back into a close relationship with Him. Today is a great day to take that first step and make Him the center of our lives again.

Today, we are going to talk about our first love, Jesus. When we first learn about Him and understand how much He loves us, we are excited to pray, worship, read His Word, and spend time with Him. Sometimes, however, life gets busy, and we can become distracted by other things. In Revelation 2:4-5, Jesus reminds us to return to our first love and put Him back in the center of our lives.

When you see this craft at home, let it remind you to put Jesus first and to return to Him whenever you feel distracted or far away. He is always ready to welcome us back with open arms because His love for us never changes.

Children learn more from what we do than from what we say. If we want our children to understand that Jesus is our first love, we must intentionally teach them through our words, actions, and daily habits. When children see that our relationship with Jesus is genuine and important, they begin to understand that He deserves first place in their own lives as well.

Teaching our children that Jesus is our first love is not accomplished in a single lesson. It happens through countless moments of prayer, worship, conversation, service, and example. With our example, our children will learn that He is not just part of life, but the foundation of it. May our lives point them to Christ and inspire them to love Him with all their hearts.
