With the stay at home order still in effect, education has had to adapt to new ways to instruct our children. Parents have had to become teachers and some of us are ill equipped to handle this. Unfortunately, this makes tutoring difficult too. I myself have experienced difficulties in getting my 12 year old to do his. He, like many others, has had to adapt to watching videos instead of his teachers, being responsible for doing his work and remembering to submit assignments. This is hard on our kids as well.
I can help him with learning strategies and study skills but I refuse to give my kids the answers. I have found that having him to school work when he has down time is easier than making him sit through a two hour block as suggested. I let him listen to music, have a drink k and sometimes a snack. I make him and my stepdaughter comfortable so they are more relaxed. I'm not sure any of this helps, but I can try and answer question if you email me at [email protected].
