If your child has read or plans to read Gustavo, the Shy Ghost by Flavia Z. Drago by October 27th, the RSVP is open! Please fill out the RSVP form. Parents/guardians must pick their child(ren) up by 4:45 pm on Tuesday, October 27th. You will receive a confirmation email the day prior to the Book Club meeting via the email you submit on the RSVP form.

Thank you to all of the students and families who read our first book ​in September! It was a great time connecting with each other. ​Now let’s share our next pick!

Our next pick for October is called Gustavo, the Shy Ghost by Flavia Z. Drago. It is a sweet picture book about a shy ghost who learns how to make friends. Any K-5th grade student and family is welcome to read and participate! We will meet on Tuesday, October 27th after school in the school library. The RSVP link will be shared soon on ParentSquare. In order for a student to participate, they must have a RSVP filled out prior to the Book Club date. Parents/Guardians must pick up their child from the library by 4:45 pm on the Book Club date.

Happy readers! We’ve been soaking in extra reading time whenever we can. We are over 6,000 circulations already and only a little over a month into school. Now we are gearing up for the Scholastic Book Fair! We set up Monday, classes come to preview on Tuesday, then we are officially open on Wednesday! It’s going to be a spooktacular booooo-k fair! 🕷️👻💜

The Book Fair will be here next week! This will be the only fair we host this year. In the spring we are going to do a book fundraiser with a different company.

Take a look at all of the fun events we have planned!

👻 Library will be closed from 10/5-10/16
🕷️ All classes will preview and create wishlists on Tuesday, October 6th during the day (Bookmobile will be here Tuesday and Wednesday)
🎃 The book fair will be open during school from Wednesday, October 7th until Thursday, October 15th
💜 VIP Breakfast is hosted by our PTO! They will provided a donut for families on your grade level morning. Students can bring up to 2 VIPs on their special day. It starts at 8 am. The book fair will be open early on these mornings. Come shop with your child and relive the Scholastic Book Fair!
- Kindergarten & 4th: Wednesday, October 7th
- 1st & 3rd: Thursday, October 8th
- 2nd & 5th: Friday, October 9th
☠️ We will be open LATE on Wednesday, October 14th during parent teacher conferences. We will close at 7 pm that night!
🔮 We will CLOSE at noon on Thursday, October 15th! We will NOT be open for conferences that afternoon/evening as we are packing up the fair and running our financials. There is no school that Friday so we will need to ready to be picked up by then!

Let us know if you have any questions! Mrs. Tankersley shared the Volunteer sign up on the Five Minute Friday. Please volunteer if you are able! We would love the extra support!

Our first book club meeting brought us a lot of joy! Thank you to all of our Drummond Book Dragons who read and participated this month. We love this community we get to build throughout the year. The Yellow Bus by Loren Long is such a sweet and heartwarming story! Stay tuned for our next pick.
