This week's LEADERSHIP TORCH recipients are the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department, First Responders, and Athletic Training Staff who continually serve our students, staff, and school community.
Whether responding to an emergency, caring for an injured athlete, or simply being there when a student needs help, you show up with skill, compassion, and dedication. Your willingness to serve and your commitment to the safety and well-being of our students do not go unnoticed. We are truly grateful for the partnerships we have with those who protect and care for our students each day.

Gator Nation this Friday is about more than the game! Help us give back to a foundation that helps so many student athletes around the state of Louisiana!

Gator Nation, this Friday means more than football. This Friday’s game marks the 6-year anniversary of the passing of Remy Hidalgo. As proud community supporters of the Remy Hidalgo Memorial Foundation, St. Amant High School will be selling our football game programs for $10, with all proceeds being donated to the foundation. Additional donations will also be accepted. We invite our Gator community to come together in remembrance of Remy and in support of Remy Hidalgo Memorial Foundation that continues to make a difference in his honor. Thank you! September marks 6 years since we lost Remy. 💙

What started as a mother’s heartbreak turned into a mission to save lives.

The Remy Hidalgo Foundation, founded by me, Remy’s mom, has been going strong for the past 5 years. In that time, we have made great strides through:

🧊 Donations of cold-water immersion tubs to schools and athletic programs
🌡️ Donations of WBGT devices to help monitor dangerous heat conditions
📚 Education on exertional heat stroke, prevention, signs and symptoms
📢 Advocacy for safer practices for student-athletes
⚖️ And the passing of the Remy Hidalgo Law, helping put important safety measures into place across Louisiana

I will continue to turn the most heartbreaking chapter of my life into something that can help protect others.

As we approach the 6-year anniversary of losing Remy, I am asking our community to help us continue this mission. Any amount of support makes a difference and helps us continue providing education, equipment and awareness while carrying Remy’s legacy forward.

I never want another family to experience the loss that ours has.

Another successful physical day for the Gators! Our awesome students along with BROC - Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic Bourgeois Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab and Our Lady of the Lake partners did physicals for 404 athletes to make sure they are healthy for next season! 💛🖤🐊
