Tomorrow is Parent-Teacher Conference Day. If you have a conference scheduled, we look forward to seeing you! 💚
This is a great opportunity to talk with your Buffalo’s teacher about how the year is going, celebrate successes, review beginning-of-the-year information, and work together to set goals for continued growth. 📚📈

🚒🔥 THURSDAY – FIRE PREVENTION MONTH!
We’re excited to welcome the St. Albans Fire Department to Central on Thursday!
Our firefighters will spend time with our K–2 Buffaloes from 9:00–10:00 a.m. for a special Fire Prevention Month presentation. 🚒🔥
We’re thankful to our local firefighters for taking the time to teach our youngest Buffaloes about fire safety! 💚

💚 Big hearts make a BIG difference, and our Ms. Hailey Nelson is proof! 💚

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Nelson on being named WQBE–Poca Valley’s Teacher of the Month! 🎉

Ms. Nelson pours her heart into helping her students learn, grow, and shine. She celebrates their progress, sees their possibilities, and helps create a school where every Buffalo belongs. Her kindness and dedication reach far beyond her classroom, and our Central family is better because she is part of it.

Before we get to the week ahead, I have to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated in Central Cares Day!
Seeing our students, staff, and families come together to wear blue, give generously, and show love and support for two neighboring school communities experiencing tremendous loss was incredibly special. 💙
Thank you for helping us show our Buffaloes what it looks like when a community takes care of one another.
I could not be prouder of our Central family! 💙🦬

Seeing our students’ messages in the hands of our Richmond Elementary family means so much. Thank you to every Central Buffalo who wore blue, signed a banner, donated, or helped us show up for Richmond and Dunbar during such a difficult time.

Richmond shared these kind words with us, and Dunbar Middle has also expressed how grateful they are for the support. Please continue to keep both school communities and both families in your thoughts. 💙

Thank you all again for being exactly what makes every day a great day to be a Buffalo. 💚

Thank you, Central Elementary School and your incredible school family, for your thoughtfulness, kindness, and generosity during this difficult time.

Your beautiful banner filled with encouraging words has been a reminder of the love and support that surrounds the Richmond Elementary family. Your generous monetary donation, which will be given directly to Mrs. Ross's family, is a meaningful expression of compassion that will make a lasting difference.

We are so grateful for your friendship and for standing beside us with such caring hearts. In moments like these, we are reminded that the school community is so much bigger than the walls of our own building.

💙 CENTRAL CARES DAY | THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 💙

Our Central Elementary community is holding the families of Alison Ross of Richmond Elementary and Hunter Combs of Dunbar Middle School close to our hearts.

On Thursday, students and staff are invited to wear blue in memory of Hunter. Our Buffaloes will also create messages of care for both school communities.

If your family would like to contribute toward funeral expenses, you may send a cash donation of any amount in an envelope marked Central Cares on Thursday. All donations are optional. We will divide the total equally and deliver each family’s share to their school. Every Buffalo is welcome to participate in the day, whether or not they donate.

Please keep both families, their friends, and their school communities in your thoughts. 💙

Our weekly Attendance G.O.A.T. trophy is staying with 3rd grade for another week! They had an AMAZING...

⚜️ MONDAY – BOY SCOUTS VISIT CENTRAL
The Boy Scouts of America will be visiting our classrooms Monday morning to talk with students. Buffaloes, let’s be respectful listeners and show our guests what Buffalo Excellence looks like! 🦬💚

🚨 TUESDAY – SHELTER IN PLACE DRILL
On Tuesday, we’ll practice our first Shelter in Place Drill of the year. This drill will practice our procedures for a chemical emergency.
Remember, Buffaloes, drills are PRACTICE! Listen carefully, follow your teacher’s directions, and show us that you know how to stay safe. 💚

💕🍎 THURSDAY – 5TH GRADE LUNCH WITH A LOVED ONE!
Thursday is 5th Grade Lunch with a Loved One! 💕
We’re excited to welcome our 5th grade families and special guests to Central. We hope our 5th Grade Buffaloes and their loved ones have a wonderful time together! 🦬💚

💗🎶 FRIDAY – DOLLY DAY!
It’s time to break out the PINK! 💗💗💗

Wear your favorite Dolly shirt or anything pink to honor our Queen, the late, great Dolly Parton on 9 to 5. 🎶💗
And because Dolly Day falls on Friday, Dolly pink is taking over our usual Central Spirit Day green this week! Show your Buffalo pride by being responsible, respectful, and kind all day long! 🦬💗

💚 EVERY VOICE MATTERS AT CENTRAL 💚

Today was one of those special moments that shows exactly what it means to belong at Central.

Ms. Hailey and her students visited our kindergarten friends to read A Day With No Words, a story that celebrates the many ways people communicate. But the best part? Our students became the teachers. 🥹

Cade helped show our kindergarteners how he uses his AAC device to communicate, giving his friends the opportunity to see firsthand that communication doesn’t always sound the same, and that everyone has something important to say. Braylen was right there helping, too! 💚

We talk often about making sure every child at Central is seen, understood, valued, and included. Today, our students got to experience exactly what that looks like.

We are so proud of Ms. Hailey for creating opportunities for her students to share their strengths, Ms. Bishop and her class for making time to learn from our friends, and especially proud of Cade and Braylen for being such wonderful teachers and friends today.

Different ways to communicate. Different ways to learn. One Herd. 🦬💚

They did it AGAIN! 3rd grade had the highest attendance at Central this week with an AMAZING...
🎉 97.19% ATTENDANCE! 🎉

🚀🔬 ADAMS IS HEADED TO STARBASE!
Our 5th graders in Ms. Adams’ class will spend the week at STARBASE! Have an amazing time learning, exploring, and representing Central, Buffaloes! 🚀🧪💚

On Wednesday, Central Goes Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness!

We’re asking our Buffaloes and staff to wear GOLD or YELLOW as we come together as one herd to show our support for children and families impacted by childhood cancer. 💛🎗️🦬
