A sweet welcome for our new educators!

What a fun first day for our new educators at St Albans City School!

Today, our new SACS educators got to know the community they’ll be serving with a bus tour around the City of Saint Albans, ending with a very sweet stop at Mad ice cream.

A big thank-you to Karen Barchowski, co-owner of Mad ice cream, for opening the shop on a day they’re normally closed just for our Maple Run family.

The ice cream was delicious, and the warm welcome meant so much!

Maple Run uses BrightArrow, the district’s communication system, to send emergency notifications, attendance calls, text messages, informational updates, weather-related cancellations, transportation updates, event reminders, and other important school-related alerts to families. These will come through as an alert text message; you will not be able to respond.
To receive text messages, families must opt in by texting YES to 79041.

To opt out, text STOP to 79041 or reply with “Stop.”
You do have to have the correct phone number in Power School to receive the messages so please check your Parent PowerSchool Account.

St. Albans City School has partnered with PickUp Patrol to help better manage our dismissal process. PickUp Patrol provides a layer of safety by authorizing and automatically tracking student dismissal plans, while still giving you the flexibility you need to make changes to your children’s plans.

The application reduces interruptions, speeds up dismissal time, and is administered by our own staff. Most importantly, it will help us ensure that our students are safely dismissed to their correct after-school destinations.
