The Maple Run Unified School District Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday, August 26, at 6:00 p.m. at Central Office, 28 Catherine Street, Saint Albans.

The Board believes it is our moral imperative to ensure that all students feel a sense of belonging and safety in our educational community so they can learn and grow throughout their PreK–12 career and beyond.

Community members are welcome to attend and share their thoughts during the public comment portion of the meeting. Your voice matters.

Join our community partners, the Champlain Community Choir, this Tuesday, August 25, at 7:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Saint Albans for a free community concert!

The choir includes approximately 60 singers from our Maple Run schools, Sheldon, homeschool families, parents, and Maple Run staff.

A great way to wrap up summer and kick off the new school year! Free and open to all, with an optional donation.

We hope to see you there!

WORK WITH US WEDNESDAY

Find your place at Maple Run!

Bellows Free Academy is looking for a Custodian II to join the team.

This is a full-time position with a pay range of $19–$26 per hour, based on experience.

The Custodian II helps keep our school clean, safe, and in good working order. The position includes heavy cleaning, floor care, recycling and trash removal, routine maintenance, clearing snow and debris from walkways and parking lots, and helping troubleshoot building issues.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. OSHA 10 training is preferred.

Friday was another great afternoon at Fairfield Center School for Popsicles on the Playground with Principal Malbeouf!

It was so nice to see so many new and returning families come out to spend the afternoon together. There was lots of laughter, conversation, popsicles, and excitement about the start of a new school year!

We were also so happy to see two very special members of our Maple Run community: Sue Wade, retired librarian at St Albans City School and Fairfield Center School, and Beth Howrigan, a retired educator at Fairfield Center School. Both have given so much to our students, families, and community over the years, and they continue to be such an important part of what makes Maple Run so special.

Thank you to all of the families who joined us and to our amazing community for making these summer gatherings so much fun.

We are getting closer and closer to the first day of school, and we can't wait!

What a summer at St Albans City School!

We wrapped up our City School Summer Fun Together series last night with Snow Cones on the Playground with our Interim Principal, Ms. Stacie!

From Popsicles in Taylor Park to the Public Library, Pancakes on the Playground, Pizza on the Playground, and finally snow cones, it has been so much fun bringing families, community members, new families, and returning families together before school begins.

So many smiles, treats, conversations, laughter, and new connections!

A special thank you to Ms. Sally Lawyer, former City School teacher for 45 years and current classroom volunteer, for joining us last night. It’s always so great to see familiar faces and connect with current and former staff.

We’re hoping to keep these gatherings going throughout the school year, too! Stay tuned for details.

Maple Run Spotlight: Eve Duckworth

We’re proud to celebrate BFA class of 2028 student Eve Duckworth, who has been selected for the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) scholarship for the 2026–2027 school year.

Eve is one of just 210 American high school students nationwide selected for the program.

This fall, Eve will head to Germany, where she’ll live with a host family, attend a local high school, learn about the German language and culture, and serve as a citizen diplomat, sharing American culture while learning from a new community.

We’re so proud of Eve and excited to follow along as she begins this incredible year.
