🚍 New This Year: if your student is riding the bus this school year, there is a new mandatory bus enrollment form that’s part of the online beginning-of-the-year packet. Please make sure to complete this form so that we can best serve and communicate with you regarding bus updates and changes. The form will also link you to instructions for our new school bus app.

For the 2024-2025 school year, KCS will operate under the Community Eligibility Program. This means that free meals will be provided to ALL students enrolled in KCS. You do not need to take any action. Students will be eligible to receive:
- Free breakfast and lunch
- Special diet accommodations
- Locally produced items such as tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, eggs, milk, spinach, corn, cheese curds, salsa, apples, peaches, and beef!

Our Summer Meal Program is also continuing this week. Click here for more information about locations still serving summer meals - https://kcs.kana.k12.wv.us/news/latest_news/kcs_2024-2025_free_meal_program.

Menus for the 2024-2025 school year will be posted soon, so be sure to check https://kana.ss18.sharpschool.com/family_students/menus_meal_information when they become available.

TIP #3:
If you go ahead and start regularly charging your school iPad and run any needed updates, it will make the first few days of school much easier!

The focus of the KCS iPad program is to provide tools and resources to our 21st-century learners. Student iPads are as essential as textbooks and will be used as such. All students enrolled in the Kanawha County School district qualify to use a district-owned electronic device. If a student has not been issued an iPad, they should alert the school on the first day and will receive a device as quickly as possible.
