Hello Sahuarita, help me recognize one of our own, Isabella Sizer. A Walden Grove senior that recently received her Letter of Assurance to the US Naval Academy Preparatory School. Upon clearance of a medical waiver, Isabella will start her career in July of this year. This is an incredible achievement. I believe she is the second student from the Sahuarita School District to receive such recognition.

One of the requirements in the process for applying to the academy is to receive a nomination from a member of Congress. Isabella received two nominations. One from Raul Grijalva and the other from Kyrsten Sinema. It’s an achievement to receive one nomination; to receive two is an incredible accomplishment when you consider the numerous applicants that apply for these nominations.

What is also worth mentioning is what Isabella turned down in order to accept her appointment with the US Naval Academy. Isabella received a full ride scholarship to the University of Arizona. She received a full ride scholarship to the University of Idaho, and she received a full ride scholarship to the University of New Mexico.

What an incredible testament to hard work and sacrifice. Her tenacity and strong work ethic have put her on a path that has a very bright future.

Congratulations Isabella, you’re an inspiration to all your fellow students here in Sahuarita. We wish you the very best. Fair Winds and Following Seas Cadet Sizer.

I still need help. I'm collecting signatures for Ed.

He needs the signatures to get on the ballot for Sahuarita Town Council.

I'll be at the clubhouse on Mon & Tue from 9-11am if you want to stop by and sign his petition.

I'm also looking for people to take a petition or two and collect 10 - 20 signatures. Please DM me if you're willing to help.

"An investment in schools is an investment in the communities which they serve.

The successful passing of Proposition 401 will help the Sahuarita Unified School District continue to provide safe and secure schools that are equipped and ready to handle the growing needs of the future. It will also help the district make important updates and expansions to existing campuses, and invest in necessary furniture and equipment.

As funding of education by the state has dropped in recent years, measures like Proposition 401 are necessary to ensure that the district can continue providing access to the highest standard of education and educational resources possible for our students. It is this standard that equips children with tools they will need to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Having served as a school board member for many years, I have had the privilege of seeing firsthand the impact that these dollars can have on our students and families. And since value will be added in some way to every school in the district, all students and our entire community will benefit."
