The Kaleidoscope Learning Collective

The Kaleidoscope Learning Collective Teacher, Autism Specialist, advocate, gardener, animal lover, and believer in seeing the potential in every person.

I'm an Autism Specialist creating the Kaleidoscope Learning Collective, a Tucson learning community where neurodivergent students can finally feel seen, celebrated, and equipped with real-world skills to truly thrive. I spend my days helping neurodivergent students build confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills while creating spaces where they feel accepted exactly as they are. Through K

aleidoscope Learning Collective, I hope to expand that mission beyond the classroom by creating hands-on, community-based learning experiences rooted in connection, belonging, and the belief that every learner has something valuable to contribute.

🌿 Good morning from Kaleidoscope! 🌿

There has been so much life happening around the farm lately.

The ants are busy, the bees are buzzing, and our friendly gopher snake has been making her rounds in the garden. The dove babies that hatched in the schoolhouse have finally taken flight, and this morning I was greeted by the first bright red strawberry of the season waiting for me in the garden.

Moments like these are some of my favorites. They remind me how much there is to discover when we slow down, pay attention, and spend time in nature.

These small wonders are a big part of what Kaleidoscope is all about, and we can’t wait to share them with our community.

We hope you’ll join us for our Grow Together: Community Discovery Gathering on July 18th from 4:00–7:00 PM, co-hosted with our wonderful friends at Desert Dreamers Farm School. Come explore, connect, and experience a little of the magic that happens here every day. 💚

🐾 Meet Charlie 🐾

I figured it was about time I introduced everyone to one of the most important members of the Kaleidoscope family.

This is Charlie!

For years, Charlie has been by my side in the classroom, helping students through hard days, big feelings, anxiety, sensory overwhelm, and all of the challenges that come with simply being human. Some students connected with her before they connected with me.

She has a way of making people feel safe, and she doesn’t care if you’re autistic, ADHD, shy, talkative, anxious, or having a rough day. She doesn’t care if you communicate differently or learn differently. She simply accepts people exactly as they are.

As we begin building Kaleidoscope, Charlie will continue doing what she does best, offering comfort, companionship, and unconditional acceptance. You’ll find her exploring the gardens, visiting the animals, joining our adventures, and reminding us all to slow down and enjoy the moment.

And if these photos tell you anything, it’s that Charlie is completely comfortable being herself.

Honestly, that’s one of the things I admire most about her.

Charlie, we couldn’t imagine this journey without you! 😊

Team Charlie!❤️

For years, I've had conversations with families who were looking for more opportunities for their children, opportunities to build confidence, learn life skills, spend time in nature, develop meaningful friendships, explore their interests, and discover their strengths in ways that don't always happen in traditional settings.

Those conversations have stayed with me and are a big part of why Kaleidoscope Learning Collective exists.

We're still building, still learning, and still growing, but I'm excited (and honestly a little nervous) to finally share our Fall 2026 Founding Families flyer.

If this resonates with you, I'd love for you to follow along, share it with someone who might be interested, or join our Interest List.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged us, supported us, shared ideas, and believed in this dream.

Worked on creating a Google Site for Kaleidoscope today! 😬I think it came out okay! Let me know what you think, especially if there are any glitches or mistakes! 😋

The gardens on our little farm are coming along nicely and have already produced a few tomatoes and cucumbers! We’ve even had a few adorable little critters having a little afternoon snack now and again! And, of course, lil miss piggy Petunia monitors it all from her little enclosure inside the garden!
