We’re Almost Ready for a New WeeSchool Year!
It’s almost time! Our staff has been busy preparing classrooms, training, and getting everything ready to welcome our kiddos. You should have already heard from your child’s teacher or you will before the weekend.
Meet the Teacher – Monday, August 31
You should have your scheduled Meet the Teacher time and know your child’s classroom. Please arrive close to your appointment time and check in at the preschool desk. If you arrive early, we may ask you to hold tight while the family before you finishes their visit. If you arrive late, we may need to find another opportunity to squeeze you in. These are scheduled appointments rather than a come and go event, so thank you for helping us stay on time!
During your visit, your child can explore the classroom and see some of the activities and learning spaces they’ll experience during the school day. Teachers will also verify important information such as contact and authorized pick-up information, allergies and health history, photo permissions, and any missing paperwork. We are still collecting a few final documents, and having complete records is especially important as we begin the year and prepare for licensing visits.
If your child requires medication while at WeeSchool, please bring it in its original container, along with any required allergy action plan or physician paperwork. We will have you complete the appropriate parent authorization forms.
First Day & Drop-Off
Our Tuesday kiddos begin Tuesday, September 1, and our Monday/Wednesday-only Giraffe friends begin Wednesday, September 2.
Our regular morning drop-off window is 8:15–8:25 AM. On Tuesday morning, we will have someone at the doors beginning around 8:10–8:15 to start welcoming everyone in.
Remember, all children are dropped off in the Worship Center. Once inside, look for your child’s classroom sign. If your child is a Hippo, look for the Hippo sign; if they’re a Giraffe, look for the Giraffe sign, and so on. Our staff will be there to help everyone find their place!
There may be a few tears at drop-off—from kiddos and grown ups! A loving, confident, and quick goodbye really does help. Give them a little time to settle in, and remember: don’t underestimate these kiddos. They can do big things! You are always welcome to check in with us after they’ve had a little time to settle.
One more important reminder: WeeSchool is closed on Fridays, so phone calls made on Fridays will not reach our preschool staff. If you need to reach me on a Friday or over the weekend, email is always the best option. If I am able to respond in a timely manner, I certainly will.
We can’t wait to see our kiddos, introduce them to their new surroundings, reunite old friends, make new ones, and begin another wonderful year together. We’ll see you Monday!
