🎓“Ticket to Tuition” Sweepstakes…will Pay up to $50,000 to First Time FAFSA Filers
📅Timeline: April 16, 2025, to May 16, 2025

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan College Access Network (MCAN) introduced a new initiative, “Ticket to Tuition” Sweepstakes, which will award a total of $900,000 to 50 first-time FAFSA filers; 10 winners will each receive $50,000 and 40 sweepstake winners will each receive $10,000 to apply to their education. The sweepstakes is intended to encourage and incentivize increasing the number of students who complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which opens the door to Federal and State dollars to assist students by lowering the cost of their college degree or skills training certificate; available funding includes the Michigan Achievement Scholarship and the Community College Guarantee. Prizes will be placed in students’ Michigan Education Savings Program Accounts to be applied to qualified educational expenses, such as tuition/fees, living expenses, computers, supplies, and textbooks. Visit TICKETTOTUITION.COM for sweepstakes details. To file for FAFSA, visit StudentAID.gov.

Who is eligible? Residents of Michigan of any age and must be a first time FAFSA filer for the academic year 2025/2026. The entry deadline is May 16, 2025.

“The completion of FAFSA opens the door for students and their families to secure federal and state funding and the sweepstakes provides the opportunity to win additional funding to benefit students’ education and future careers. The Saginaw Promise works closely with MCAN and values and appreciates partnerships and initiatives that advance and support postsecondary education,” stated Deborah Sanchez, Director of the Saginaw Promise.
