✨ Intern Spotlight ✨ Sydney Jennings, DO
Hometown: Butte, Montana
Med School: Western University of Health Sciences, COMP-NW
Why OBGYN?: OBGYN has the highest of highs and lowest of lows and my patients will be counting on me to show up for them during both extremes, and everything in between. This privilege of being able to form connections rooted in humanity, while walking alongside my patients through both heartbreak and celebration is something I will always cherish about this specialty.
Why CMU?: Even though my interview was through zoom, I immediately felt the sense of connection and support between the faculty, residents, and all team members, which was important to me as I chose a program. Furthermore, I wanted to train at a smaller program that still provided residents with extensive experience in both uncomplicated OB and Gyn patients as well as cases that are “once in a lifetime”. CMU absolutely checks that box, and I am grateful for the opportunity to train here.
Future Career goals: Right now, my plan is to return to Oregon or Montana to work as generalist providing care for individuals in an underserved area.
However, I am always open to seeing where the wind takes me.
Fun Fact or Hobby: I hold one of the longest Snapchat streaks ever at 3, 585 days. Also, I have a twin sister.
