In response to the ongoing cyclosporiasis outbreak, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) advises Michigan residents that they can resume routine guidance for consuming lettuce and salad greens as new cyclosporiasis case reports and related emergency department visits are on the decline.

Congratulations to Alix Williamson, Office Assistant in Environmental Health Division, for being selected as our quarterly “MOD”ified Award recipient!

Alix is the first and friendliest face all clients encounter when walking into the Environmental Health office. She continually strives and achieves giving clients the best customer service experience possible and finding the proper resources if our office cannot immediately help a client. She has continued to learn all the aspects of Environmental Health through her internship while still performing her day-to-day work duties at an exceptional and professional level, promoting an even higher sense for public health through peer education. She recently helped our office logistically at the 1st Annual Saginaw Tattoo Festival, which was a brand-new event for our office. Her excellent record keeping and client customer service experience kept field staff on-time and in motion during the event while she managed the logistics and paperwork for staff.
