Isabella McDowell (VL 2028) was recently highlighted in the September edition of the Saginaw Township Living Magazine! Here's what it said about her:
Isabella McDowell, daughter of Shana and Melvin McDowell, of Saginaw, is a rising junior at Valley Lutheran. She has been involved in theater, Global Awareness, Protect Life, and Pep Club at Valley. Her favorite theater performance was Alice in Wonderland, where she played the Griffin, a role that helped showcase her love for performing. One of Isabella’s favorite memories is her Freshman Homecoming dance; she attended with a group of students she did not know well but ended up forming friendships and memories that made the experience unforgettable.
She appreciates Valley’s supportive environment, where teachers are always willing to help and where learning about God is part of everyday life. Isabella is especially grateful for how Valley has helped her gain confidence and step out of her comfort zone, transforming from a shy student into someone who enjoys being on stage and connecting with others. Spanish teacher Mrs. Lori Lanczak shared, “Izzy was a joy to have in class, especially during first hour. What a way to start my day! Her positive energy is infectious.” After graduation, Isabella plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University to pursue a degree in social work.
