: Most young children are curious about the natural world around them. Plant seeds and watch them sprout. Children take ownership by making sure they get water and sunlight. A class fish is an effortless way for children to observe a living thing in the classroom. Have a large window? Place a suction cup bird feeder on the outside, fill with seed and watch all the visitors that come to eat throughout the day. Accessible, factual books with realistic pictures that give information about animals or other natural topics; and adding natural objects to your space, such as pinecones, seashells, feathers, and gourds are some other easy ways to bring nature and science into the program.
