We are grateful for the outstanding impact that Coach Steve Jaksa made at Nouvel and cannot wait to see his hard work and dedication celebrated when he's inducted into the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame this fall. Thanks for all that you helped create, Coach Jaska!

Steve Jaksa rides Nouvel baseball success to Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame The former Nouvel baseball coach will be inducted Nov. 1 after winning two state titles and posting a 353-106 record from 1987 to 1997.

We're so excited to see our incredible alumni being recognized! A huge thank you to our Nouvel Gala committee for shining a spotlight on the many outstanding graduates who continue to make us proud.

Our next Alumni Spotlight features Erica (Pharis) Pulley-Vary, Class of 1989. Erica earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education with a focus on Autism, along with reading and administrative endorsements. Reflecting on her time at Nouvel, she shared, “I am so grateful for what Nouvel has taught me. Thanks to my Nouvel education, I was driven to help others.” Erica went on to start two charter schools and currently serves as a reading interventionist in the area, helping students build the skills they need to succeed. We are proud of the impact she continues to make in the lives of others and lives out the Nouvel mission.

Congratulations to Douglas Putnam, Nouvel Class of 2008! He completed his Master's Degree in Special Education from Central Michigan University, with an endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Holly Marie Schwind Scholarship Foundation is hosting their annual golf outing on Saturday, August 8th at Crooked Creek Golf & Banquet. The foundation is in memory of Class of 1992 alumna, Holly Schwind, and generously provides scholarships each year to multiple Nouvel Panthers. Thank you to the Schwind family for their continued support of Nouvel Catholic Central.

The Nouvel Catholic Central Class of 2006 is celebrating 20 years! Last weekend, 24 Panthers reunited for the first of two planned reunion events. Alumni traveled from across the country, including Seattle, Denver and Dallas to reconnect and reminisce together. The celebration will continue this fall, with a second reunion gathering planned during the Nouvel Gala in October. We love seeing our alumni stay connected and continue to strengthen the bonds formed at Nouvel. Go Panthers!

We are proud to be part of FNV Griffins High School Hockey Team. Congratulations to Liam Simerson, Nouvel Class of 2022, who will be joining the European Union College Hockey League and play for the Prague Guardians!
