Assistant Teacher
General Job Description:
Assistant Teacher is under the direct supervision of the St Paul Christian Daycare Director, and will be responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher with the implementation of an appropriate developmental childcare program for infants and toddlers. Educational activities will support social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the implementation of a
developmentally appropriate classroom.
Greet and communicate with parents daily, establishing a positive and productive relationship.
Ability to multitask.
Promotes feelings of security and trust in children within a nurturing environment.
Interacts with children in a positive manner, supporting their learning and development.
Attends staff meetings and completes required professional development hours each calendar year, including CPR, First Aid and other annual trainings.
Assist other staff in cleaning and sanitizing responsibilities.
Able to work as a productive and positive member of a team.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk throughout workday to supervise children throughout daily activities, including playground.
Job Qualifications:
Experience with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting.
Meet minimum State Licensing requirements, including all background clearances and TB test.
Job Type:
Part Time 20-25 hours per week M-F
(assigned shifts will vary during center hours 7:30 a.m. – 3:30p.m.)

High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
CPR Certification (Preferred)
Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
