March is save your vision month!
Just like washing your hands and wearing a mask, there are healthy habits you can practice to protect your vision.
-Wear sunglasses even in the winter to protect your eyes from damaging rays
-Eat nutritious foods such as carrots and other vegetables rich in Vitamin A, leafy greens, and Omega-3 fatty acids found in foods such as salmon
-Practice good contact lens habits to decrease risk of eye infection and inflammation
Most importantly, schedule your routine eye exam! Contact your local Great Lakes Eye Institute to schedule an appointment.

During AMD Awareness Month in February, the American Academy of Ophthalmology is reminding patients that they can decrease the risk of progression of AMD, but early detection is a critical first step.
