The championship belt is staying with the staff! 🏆

Throughout the year, our students and staff have gone head-to-head in a variety of fun competitions during our Hornet Hype assemblies. With the series tied 3-3 heading into the final event, everything came down to one last challenge.

Mrs. Weber and Mrs. Field represented the staff and secured the victory by winning a good old-fashioned game of Memory! Their win gave the staff a 4-3 series victory and bragging rights until next year.

Thanks to all of our students and staff who made this year’s competitions so much fun. The friendly competition, laughter, and school spirit are all part of what makes the Hive such a special place! ❤️💙

Our first grade gardeners were hard at work today planting the Jack and the Beanstalk Garden! 🌱💚

One of our little Hornets suggested that the birthday girl should get to plant two beans because it was her special day. Safe to say that melted all of our hearts. 🥹

They were respectful, patient, and absolutely wonderful today! 💙❤️

Hemmeter loves Mooneys Ice Cream & Cakes! 🍦❤️💙

They continue to be such a tremendous supporter of schools and kids in Saginaw Township, and this week they made lunchtime extra special for our Hornets by bringing their brand new ice cream truck to Hemmeter!

What a sweet way to start wrapping up our second grade year! 🍪🍦✨

Our students spent the last days of school enjoying Discovery Days, learning the history behind some of their favorite things, from chocolate chip cookies to ice cream and so much more! Their curiosity, excitement, and love of learning made every moment special.

We wrapped up the week with Friendship Day, celebrating the amazing relationships that grew all year long. From laughter and teamwork to kindness and unforgettable memories, these kiddos created some incredible friendships. 💛

Today our first graders celebrated Lunch with Someone Special at the Hive! Students invited special guests in their lives to enjoy a wonderful music performance and share lunch together afterward. It was such a special afternoon filled with smiles, hugs, singing, and great memories.

A huge thank you to Liberty Starkweather for chairing this amazing event and to all of the volunteers who helped make the day so meaningful for our students and families. We also want to give a big shoutout to Mrs. Wika for the tremendous job she did putting together the music program. Our first graders were incredible!

🎮 Esports is one of the most popular clubs at Hemmeter, and over the past month our students have been learning teamwork, strategic thinking, communication, sportsmanship, and problem-solving through Super Smash Brothers!

We wrapped up the season with an awesome tournament that started with more than 50 student competitors battling it out in the Esports Room. In the end, AJ claimed the championship after an exciting finals match against Ty, an impressive first grader who made an incredible run through the bracket!

To make the event even more special, a student production team streamed the final rounds live for the entire school while providing play-by-play commentary and analysis just like a real esports broadcast. The energy in the Hive was electric as classrooms tuned in to cheer on their classmates!

🍦 Served 330 kids ice cream from Mooney’s
🎮 Crowned AJ our Super Smash Brothers Champion in Esports
🦾 Built prosthetic arms out of LEGO in Robotics
🧪 Watched two students earn $100 cash for memorizing every element on the periodic table
🎓 Celebrated the coolest kindergarteners around at Kindergarten Recognition

And somehow… all of that happened in ONE day. 😂

There is truly never a dull moment at Hemmeter. Work hard. Play hard. That’s the Hive. 🐝

It’s hard to believe this group started the year learning how to line up, open milk cartons, and find their classrooms. Tonight, they stood on stage singing, smiling, and showing just how much they’ve grown this year.

This class is full of huge personalities, big hearts, curiosity, and energy. They love school, love each other, and keep us laughing every single day.

World, get ready… because the Class of 2038 is something special. 🐝🎓

Well, this was pretty awesome! 🔬💯

Our amazing STEM coach, Mrs. Deese, challenged our fifth graders to memorize every element on the periodic table. That’s 118 elements… no small task!

Leah and Peyton decided to take her up on the challenge and absolutely crushed it. After they successfully completed it, Mrs. Deese reached into her pocket and surprised each of them with a $100 bill as a reward!

What an incredibly generous and unforgettable way to celebrate hard work, determination, and a love of learning. Experiences like this are the kind of moments students will remember for years.
