Today is the day!

Five years ago, The Broadway Originals began with a dream, a handful of students, and a belief that every child deserves a place to shine. Today, we celebrate five incredible years of performances, friendships, growth, laughter, hard work, and unforgettable memories.

To every student who has stepped on our stage, every family who has supported us, and every teacher, staff member, and volunteer who has helped make TBO what it isthank you. This milestone belongs to all of you.

We cannot wait to celebrate with our amazing performers today as they take the stage and showcase everything they’ve worked so hard for this season.

Here’s to five amazing years… and the many more still to come! ❤️

On behalf of our families from The Broadway Originals who attended Gotta Dance! on Friday, May 22, we wanted to extend our heartfelt gratitude for giving our school the opportunity to attend the performance with complimentary tickets. Not only did we use every ticket we were given, but additional families joined us for the evening as well. It was such a wonderful way to bring our musical theatre school together, and our students were absolutely thrilled to see the show. As a former Broadway performer myself, an original cast member of Rock of Ages, and now a performing arts educator, I was truly blown away by the talent, dedication, and heart on that stage. Every performer was a true triple threat. The professionalism, joy, and commitment radiating from the cast inspired all of us deeply. Our students especially loved seeing “Cool,” as we are currently rehearsing West Side Story at TBO. That number meant so much to them. Many of our theatre students train year-round, just like athletes train for sports, because theatre is their passion and their love. We also want to thank the cast members who were so gracious after the performance, taking photos, sharing smiles, and giving our students special moments of encouragement and connection. Those moments truly matter to young performers who look up to Broadway artists as role models and inspirations. At TBO, we often speak with our students about how performance can be a form of activism, healing, storytelling, and community. While rehearsing West Side Story, our students have been discussing themes of identity, acceptance, and the racial and social divides that still exist in our world today. Some of our students have personally experienced discrimination because of race, identity, or being q***r. Seeing your cast perform with such humanity, artistry, and heart was incredibly meaningful and inspiring for them.

Thank you again for this generous opportunity and for creating such a beautiful and moving evening for our students and families.
