We had a wonderful time celebrating Stone Soup today which highlights sharing and being a part of a community. It is always a bonus when we are encouraging these positive social skills that we also get to eat delicious soup!

The moment you step into our classrooms, you know you are somewhere special. Maria Montessori’s idea of the prepared environment was that everything the child came in contact with would facilitate and maximize independent learning and exploration. Our calm, well-ordered classrooms allow for movement and activity, allowing children the freedom to choose activities to work at their own pace. The principles of our environments are Freedom, Structure and Order, Beauty, Nature and Reality, Social Environment, and Intellectual Environment. Here, children experience a combination of freedom and self-discipline, as guided by the environment.
July is traditionally the time we learn about life on the farm. Many of our lessons focus on where our food comes from and how it goes from the farm to our forks. Last week we made our own bread, butter, and strawberry jam and enjoyed the results of our hard work. Fun and delicious!
