Here are a couple of pics of the Black Superheroes: Not All Superheroes Wear Capes display we have up in the Library as part of our efforts to celebrate and honor Black History Month. It features action figures and statues of Black Superheroes from comic books and movies, and images of, and quotes from, or info about, Black educators at ARC, with the language "Not all superheroes wear capes." We don't have the educators' images and info online yet, but we will make that happen soon. In the meantime, if you're able to stop by and check it out, please do :) You can also find the educators' images and info in the Unite Center.

Much love and gratitude to the ARC Umoja Sakhu and Black Student Success Center educators who helped make this project possible.

If you're a Black educator (admin, faculty, staff, or student-worker) at ARC and would like to be included, please let us know, and we can make that happen :) It took a while for us to make this project happen, so we'd like to keep it up through more than just February, so there's still time. Thank you!

Hungry? Come on in and check out the variety of cookbooks at the ARC Library! We have cookbooks featuring cuisine from various countries, specialities, flavors, or diets. Come check out a sample from our cookbook collection on the first floor of the library, and snag a free recipe booklet as well. Looking for something else? There are plenty of more cookbooks for you to browse here:

My favorite LGBTQIA+ Superhero? Maybe Batwoman? Not sure. What I do know is we have 3 of her books available right now :) https://tinyurl.com/4t7j23sa

So, a Pride Center Calendar we posted in the library and some of our "Hate has no home here" signs with the rainbow background have been torn down. I want to disappoint whoever doesn't want to see that content.

Come see our our staff at the LRC! Even though the library building is closed you can request books from any of the other Los Rios libraries through OneSearch for pick up at the Learning Resource Center. Unfortunately ARC Library Reserves (textbooks) and general collection are not available during the closure.

OneSearch gives you access to premium content that's more likely to be useful for college-level research. Many of your results will include sources that aren’t freely available on the open web and many sources have been selected by professional librarians because of their quality. 03/13/2023

Sorry, the library building has had to close due to a leak in the Lower Level. Please stay out of the area.
Check our Library Hours page for the most up to date hours as we work to resolve the issue.
