Announcing the 2022 HABS/HAER/HALS Summer Recording Program!

Heritage Documentation Programs, NPS, in collaboration with the National Council for Preservation Education ( ), seeks applications from qualified students and recent graduates for 2022 summer employment documenting historic sites and structures of architectural, landscape, and technological significance throughout the United States. Duties involve on-site field work and the preparation of measured and interpretive drawings and written historical reports for the HABS/HAER/HALS Collection at the Prints and Photographs Division of The Library of Congress.

Projects last 12 weeks, beginning in late May or early June. Salaries range from approximately $8,000 to $12,000 for the summer, depending upon job responsibility and level of experience. Positions will be located at the HDP office in Washington, DC.

Applications are due March 7, 2022.

This competition is for those who are finishing their thesis or project. There will be cash prizes for the winners and the champions from CSUS will go on to compete at the CSU level and beyond.
