Today is Supervised Visitation awareness day. Many do not know what supervised visitation is until it is ordered for themselves or for someone they love.

What is supervised visitation?

Supervised visitation is where a party is court ordered to have their visitation time with their children monitored by a neutral third party.

This may be ordered to be “non professional”, where an agreed upon family member or friend supervises the visitation.

Or it may be professional, where an agency like our own, monitors the visitation in a visitation center or an offsite location. Professional monitors take notes through the supervised visitation and document what is happening.

Though it may be a difficult road, supervised visitation provides many a neutral and safe location to bond with their children while decisions are made in court.
