Thank you to all the dancers who participated in our Class Feis yesterday!

Our judge was none other than Jason Oremus-McLeish! Former Riverdance lead, creator of Hammerstep dance crew (as seen on America’s got talent), and co-creator and cast member of the Tony award-winning musical Paradise Square!

Not only did we get detailed written comments, but Jason took the time to really critique our dancing and offer expert advice. We appreciate all the time, effort and insights!

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Behind the Barre has a new home! ❤️

Capital Dance Project’s 12th annual Behind the Barre Outdoor Festival is moving to CLARA in Midtown!

📅 NEW DATES: Thursday, September 3 & Friday, September 4

Due to unexpected site-specific permitting limitations at our original location, we are no longer able to present this year’s festival at The Red Museum as planned.

We are immensely grateful to The Red Museum and the artists who call it home. Over the past three years, their generosity and partnership helped Behind the Barre grow into the full outdoor festival it is today, giving us the space to dream bigger and bring more artists into the experience. The Red Museum will always be an important part of Behind the Barre’s story. ❤️

We are also incredibly grateful to CLARA for welcoming us on short notice and allowing us to preserve the heart of the festival: world-premiere dance, local artist collaborations, our full Maker’s Market, food and drinks, and the outdoor experience we had planned. As home to an extraordinary community of Sacramento artists and arts organizations, we’re so excited to transform the space and share this year’s festival with you there!

Thank you to everyone who came out to try on these shoes!
We raffled off the 10 pairs gave us to 10 lucky dancers! Having these samples to try on really did help us understand this brand of shoe and what size we are. They definitely made our feet look super sharp!
