At PFAA we are proud to have a program which includes robust academic instruction and artistic training. Our graduation requirements are based on ensuring all students are UC/CSU a-g eligible with opportunities to cultivate experience in the arts and take college classes while in high school.

With the support of the National Student Clearinghouse, we are able to follow our graduates starting with the Class of 2017 as they head off to college and graduate school. Many go on to earn degrees as engineers, lawyers, doctors, and artists. Some of our graduates in the past seven years have even earned doctorates in veterinary science, pharmacy, and medicine...just to name a few fields.

We are proud that our graduates are successful in many disciplines. Bravo to these alumni for their accomplishments and and thank YOU to our teachers and staff for providing these opportunities for our students.

Acting 2 Honors was thrilled to welcome a very special guest, Hannah Sedlacek, who plays Penny Pingleton in Broadway Sacramento’s production of Hairspray! She shared her journey from performing in high school to working professionally, along with insights into auditioning, navigating the rehearsal process, and building a career as a performer.

A huge shout-out to NCS alum Ali Qadiri (c/o 2022) and recent UCLA graduate for making this inspiring visit possible and helping create such a meaningful opportunity for our young performers! ✨

We are excited to share that our very own PFAA middle school teacher Kristina Green is being recognized this weekend as the Sacramento County Charter School Teacher of the Year! Shout out to Mrs. Green for her years of dedication, inspiration, and love for our students! A few glimpses of our staff celebration this morning.

We always LOVE hearing what our alumni are up to. Check out this wonderful stop motion animation film, Wildwood from Laika Studios, Maria Sgromo (PFAA c/o 2015) recently worked on. Maria helped design all of the sets shown and it is a great example of the kind of work available to students who continue in the arts. Thank to you to Maria and her mom for sharing this with us. We are both impressed and proud of what you have accomplished!

Will you be a PFAA, Leading Edge, or ECA parent this coming school year? Join us for the Back to School Kickoff Picnic sponsored by Parents for the Arts (P4A) and Leading Edge Active Parents (LEAP) on the Blackrock campus the night before school starts.

This is a GREAT way to connect with other families from our school. Shout out to the hardworking parents putting this together. We could also use a few volunteers that evening.

Shout out to Ryan Young (c/o 2026) who is already accomplishing amazing things. In June Ryan officially reported to the United States Military Academy at West Point (New York) to complete the mandatory new cadet basic training to become a Plebe (freshman) cadet with the Corps of Cadets this Fall semester. While at West Point he plans to major in civil engineering and we know will make a positive impact on our country and community.

Ryan’s family shared a few photos to celebrate the occasion. We are all exceptionally proud of you, Ryan!
