Bio:
Santiago Sabado is from Shingle Springs, CA. He earned his Masters of Music in Instrumental Wind Conducting, Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Trumpet Performance, as well as his Teaching Credential in Music from Sacramento State University. While attending Sac State he studied trumpet with Gary Dilworth and conducting with Dr. Clay Redfield and Dr. Robert Halseth.
In his career Santiago has taught all grade levels from preschool through college. He is currently the Co-Director of Bands at Bella Vista HS in Fair Oaks, CA where he teaches jazz and concert ensembles as well as marching band. He was formerly the Director of Athletic Bands at Sacramento State University previously held positions teaching music at Ponderosa High School, Camerado Springs Middle School, Buckeye Elementary, Blue Oak Elementary, Mountain Creek Middle School, and Pioneer Elementary.
He is an active member in the California Music Educators Association, Capitol Section where he has held a variety of positions including President, Higher Ed Rep, and Collegiate Chapter Advisor. He was the founder of the Gold Country Jazz Festival in 2014 and is currently the Music Director for the Jazz and Concert Band sessions of the Sugarloaf Fine Arts Camp based in El Dorado County.

CMEA Capitol Section - Golden Empire 70th Annual Golden Empire Music Festival

We are excited to announce that CMEA will host the first-ever Elementary Classroom Music Showcase at CASMEC on Thursday, January 16, 2025 in Sacramento!
The intent of this showcase is to feature elementary ensembles on the performance main stage and will feature 4-6 groups representing the variety of music making ensembles and classes existing in Kindergarten thorugh grade 6 settings. Ensembles may include classroom/general music, guitar, percussion, ukulele, Orff, etc.
Applications are due by Friday, September 20 and applicants will be notified by email on Wednesday, October 2.
