💤What do Sleep Techs do?

They assist in the clinical assessment, physiological monitoring and testing, diagnosis, management, and prevention of sleep related disorders with the use of various diagnostic and therapeutic tools. Here are our June students hard at work practicing proper electrode application and patient care!

Our upcoming A-Step programs consist of 2 parts:

- The 80-hour Introductory Course and Online Self-Study Modules.
- The Northern California School of Sleep Medicine is an accredited provider of the 80-hour Introductory Course.

Students who complete the 80-hour Introductory course and pass the 80-hour Introductory Course Final Exam have access to the Online Self-Study Modules at a discounted rate.

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) developed the Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP) to standardize training for those interested in the field of sleep medicine. The Northern California School of Sleep Medicine provides the necessary education for anyone looking to begin a new career in the burgeoning field of Sleep Medicine.

This 2-week class prepares you to take that first step in a new career. With a foot in the door of the Sleep Medicine industry, completion of the course means the door is now open to on-the-job experience, learning how to talk to patients, taking appropriate notes, and even learning to titrate.
