WEIGHTLIFTING AND CROSSFIT FRIENDS! Please read....
So these two badasses have made an international team. That’s right, American record holder Cadence Ricci and national champion Ryland Shriver are on their way to Argentina to compete for team USA in December. To help offset this cost I’m trying to raise a bit of money. My cost to be there and coach them will be about $2,500.
I’m opening up some program and remote coaching spots through the rest of the year. Get the same individualized programming and coaching method I use with these two. I’m offering this on a donation basis. 100% goes towards my travel to Argentina. You will get a custom program, daily communication and video analysis all based off of your personal needs and goals from now until December 31st. Donate what you can. Bella is better than you. Super proud of this 12 year old for stepping out in her first competition. Bella first touched a barbell about 6 months ago. I couldn’t think of anything I’d rather do for my birthday than coach weightlifting. It’s my absolute favorite thing to do. Athletes seem to struggle with the concept of the jerk. Come learn it from top to bottom. This 3 hours will include the physics, biomechanics, force production and general physical preparedness (mobility) of the lifts. You can’t learn these lifts with a 3 minute demonstration. Come get better and celebrate my birthday. $25. Only taking the first 15 people.

Seriously. has been on program for about 6 weeks. Here’s just some of the improvements. Cnj +6k to 137k. Yep. Made that 300 # mark. Jerk +8 to 140k. Squat +10k to that 200k mark. We set some milestones and hit them. I don’t know what else to say. The program works. These aren’t newbie gains. Emmanuel has been doing this for many years. The only change has been in the program structure. Why are you not following this? Watch out for this one too. Big things coming for this young man.

Ok. Time for some honesty. 100/130 was not what I wanted today. It was not what I expected... but it was what I deserved. I spend so much time being diligent with my athletes. They put in consistent work and follow program. All of them are improving. I do not remember the last time I squatted multiple reps for multiple sets. I think I’ve sn**ched and clean & je**ed in the same day twice this year. I’ve been doing this for so long I just expect it to be there. The movements are there but the strength through consistency is not. I am almost 38. At 35 I was a National silver medalist. A lot has changed in 3 years. Last week I looked at the calendar and realized that nationals is 2 weeks away. I panicked. I am not ready; 2 weeks is not enough time to get ready, but it is enough time to get proficient. I let myself down, so here I am on vacation in Tahoe taking stock of where I’m at in life and weightlifting. On a positive note, life is great. I was able to clean and jerk with both hands for the 2nd time this year without major pain. Huge thank you to for letting me come by in the middle of a class. Please know I pay attention and I can say with confidence the members there are very well coached.

Let me tell you about this young man. I’ve called him a kid forever because he was just 15 when he started lifting weights. He is anything but a kid these days. I am so proud of . He has never not put in the work. He has trusted me more than I trust myself and most importantly has an amazingly humble and honest character. He only went 2/6 and that was good enough for 7th place at the university national championships. I am full of pride to call this young man my friend. .

16 year old Ryland just sn**ched 120k! He’s been with me for less than a year. 3 weeks ago he started a pretty rough cycle. Ya know those cycles where everything is miserable and you barely function around 80%. How about 105%? Less than year ago this was his max clean and jerk.
