CTA Staff Attorney Jacob Rukeyser, our CTA Staff Rep Tamara Conry, and Williams TA President Tony Hermann had a long but productive day at PERB.
Settlements were reached on two Unfair Charges that were filed by WTA a year ago, instead of 6 days of hearings later this month! We are soooo happy that the District won’t be paying for subs for our teachers the last two weeks of school, and really happy they won’t be paying exorbitant attorney fees for those 6 days.

After a year since the Unfair Practice Charge (UPC) was heard by the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), and two years since the UPC was filed, today we found out the PERB Judge ruled in favor of WTA.
The UPC was based on the District unilaterally imposing full day TK and Kindergarten, and refusing to bargain the impacts and effects of that decision with WTA. In this WIN, all TK-K teachers, past and present, will be compensated!
Great job, Kindergarten Teacher, Emma Agnew, for testifying on behalf of WTA a year ago! 🎉

Thank you parents and community members, you spoke and the board heard you. At tonight’s meeting the board of trustees voted unanimously to keep the process for filling the vacant seat as is. They will begin advertising for the position and accepting applications tomorrow (4/10). It is so very important that we continue to make our voices heard. We need to ensure the integrity of this process!! Our children DESERVE competent, qualified members of our community representing them and making decisions for their future. Below is an outline of the process, and the timeline in which it must be completed. THANK YOU!!!

Our community deserves the opportunity to apply to be on the Williams Unified School District Board of Trustees! Otherwise, we might get one of Lampkin’s buddies who will say yes to whatever he wants... 😡

Regardless of color, any loving, qualified, dedicated, knowledgeable teacher can teach any child. Superintendent Lampkin went to Mexico City (spending district funds) to recruit and interview teachers even though Northern California has many qualified bilingual teachers who will do a great job for our students.

Superintendent Lampkin and the board wasted $27,000 on its own inaccurate private investigation rather than waiting for the legal process to take its course. For the record, the Williams Teachers Association had no part in instigating the prosecution. Please continue to SHARE!!!!!
