CalSWEC Student Day CalSWEC Student Day will be at the Mission Inn in Riverside on April 18, 2014!! Ms.

In response to IV-E student requests, the first Title IV-E Student Day was held in 1998. The event was designed as an educational conference as well as an opportunity to meet and network with other IV-E students and alumni throughout the state. Since its inception, Student Day has been a key event in the Title IV-E student school experience. The event is created by a team of first and second year

Title IV-E representatives from each school. This team meets as a group twice, during the fall and winter Title IV-E Project Coordinators meetings. At the first meeting, the team chooses a theme for the event, around which relevant event speakers and workshop topics are selected. The coordinator for the event is a Title IV-E student selected by the prior year’s team and paid as a GSR. To insure fairness, the location of the event rotates among the various regions of the state. Student Day

CalSWEC's statewide Title IV-E Student Day, an all-day conference held in the spring, is planned and coordinated by the Student Day Planning Team, composed of Title IV-E MSW student representatives from the 21 graduate schools of social work throughout California as well as students from the Title IV-E BASW schools. The conference features speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities for attendees. Student Day 2013

The Title IV-E Student Day 2013 will be held April 12, with the theme Evolving Social Work Practice: Social Reform in Action .The conference will be held at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel. Danna Fabella of the Child and Family Policy Institute of California (CFPIC) will deliver the keynote address. A reception will follow, hosted by the California Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
