We have an imperative from Paul to be filled with the spirit in Ephesians the fifth chapter. why did he. make this so strong. first of all it was because this is The way we receive the Spirit of adoption and that's what gives us the possibility of an intimate relationship with God as father. It's all about relationship with God. Second we are to be filled so we are anointed to serve the Lord's kingdom. Third it is to be anointed to worship and to pray. Without the fullness of the spirit we cannot truly worship in spirit and in truth as Jesus taught in John the fourth chapter.
The spirit is the spirit of truth and by the spirit he transforms lives and renews our minds so we can discern the will of God and interpret his word. Thus it is imperative to be filled with the spirit

It's by Timothy Keller it is absolutely excellent I have found since I retired one of the most important things I'm learning is the importance of time with God because he reveals his glory and he reveals truth to us.
This is a must read for every leader and follower of Christ.

The search shaping our journey begins with Moses "show me thy glory " he ask of God why would Moses asked this of God? Had he not seen God's glory in the burning bush the miracles of the Exodus and the parting of the sea? He heard God speak, he saw God on the mount yet he prays show me thy glory. God's answer was to reveal his character of mercy and his judgment of sin God will not let him see his face only his afterglow of his presence. Would Moses find God's glory in the promised land? This is our beginning principle believing to know God leads us to seek his glory I see the revealing of this glory of God in the Scriptures, the search for the glory of God. is there something God plants in us? The search for him. We will look at David search for the glory next.
God is trying to teach us where his glory is not to be found. My desire is to stimulate questions and searching on the part of any serious follower of Jesus Christ. As we journey through the scripture the principles of the search will reveal something about the glory of God.
