We have some exciting and new programs at Foothill High School this year and we cannot wait for our students to participate. One of those programs is our Expanded Learning Program which will be focusing on College Readiness, Health and Wellness, as well as Community Involvement. The program will adapt to the interests of our students as the year goes on. We will be offering this before and after school for our students.

Good afternoon,
TRUSD will be hosting a career fair on September 8th at 9:00 AM in the Citrus Heights Community Center. Students who are interested in attending may fill out a survey (please scan QR code on flyer) to receive a permission slip once school starts. TRUSD has several employers attending the event that may lead to jobs with the state or vendors including Wal-Mart and Amazon. Students should be dressed ready to be interviewed. If you have any questions, please email your School Counselor.

Good morning,

As we near the first day of school, students’ anticipation begins to grow regarding their schedules, lunches, and more. We have had many parents and students reach out already regarding the start of the year and here is a bit of information to help as we approach the first day of school (August 18th starting at 8:30 am).

1. Schedules – School Counselors are currently working on scheduling all students. Some students have already seen their schedules through the Aeries app but this may or may not be their first day schedules as Counselors are making many changes this week whether it is due to placement, balancing, needing to complete CTE pathways, and more. Schedules may still change up until the first day of school.

2. Schedule / Material Pick up – There is no schedule/material pick up this year. Like last year, 1st period classes will be posted for each student throughout campus. Upon arriving to 1st period, students’ assigned 1st period teacher will distribute full day schedules.

3. Lunches – Counselors cannot assign a student a specific lunch. Lunches will be determined based on a student’s 4th period. Counselors cannot arrange for students to have a specific 4th period so that a student may have a specific lunch. Counselors receive too many of these requests. These requests will not be accommodated.

4. Freshman Orientation – Thursday - 8/11 Check in begins @ 7:30 am and rally @ 8 am on FHS campus.

Thank you,
FHS School Counselors

Hi everyone,

Students who have Summer School at Highlands High School on Wednesdays and Thursdays may begin taking his or her online class today. Students can access his or her class through the TRUSD apps on the Google Chromebook. Once opening the TRUSD apps, use the search bar and type “edgenuity”. Please select the edgenuity software. The program will open and start playing a tutorial video (if a student has not used the program before). After the tutorial video is complete, the student may begin the coursework.

If your student does not have an edgenuity class assigned, teachers will assign them soon if not on Wednesday.

Thank you,
Cesar Balderas
School Counselor

Good Morning! If you are attending ARC next year and are interested in attending a summer bridge program to help transition you from high school to college then the following program may be for you!

The TRIO SSS program holistically supports first generation college students (those who will be the first in their families, aside from siblings, to earn a Bachelor's degree), low-income students and students with disabilities who demonstrate academic need, to achieve academic and professional success. Our programs provide personalized support and designated counseling to help students graduate, transfer and earn a four-year bachelor's degree. We are open to students pursuing all majors with dedicated specialized programs for STEM and Veteran students.

The Summer Bridge program will provide students with an opportunity to get acclimated to campus early. They'll also get to make friends, access campus resources and meet with a counselor to ensure their Education Plan and Fall classes are ready to go.
