Join us for six riveting, short, conference-style presentations featuring qualitative grad student research from COMS 203 regarding: How women self-advocate with health care providers; managing uncertainty while job hunting; how young black men frame higher ed and navigate disengagement stereotypes; how students make meaning of AI policies in higher education; dance teachers’ verbal and nonverbal feedback strategies; and le***an sensemaking through media and fandom.

Kai Levato is our spring 2026 Leah Vande Berg Graduate Scholarship in Communication Studies Recipient. Kai will be presenting their research at the Western States Communication Association’s convention later this month!
The Leah Vande Berg Graduate Scholarship in Communication Studies Scholarship is intended to support CSUS graduate students majoring in Communications Studies. Current COMS graduate students can apply for this award every spring and fall.
