CULTURE MATTERS!
Our latest research, presented at , explores how educators across Northern California are fostering strong, identity- affirming learning environments for girls (specifically girls of color) in computer science classrooms. By centering CRC in teacher professional development, we’re supporting educators to create inclusive spaces where students can thrive academically and socially. Our data shows that students are more likely to ask for help, feel supported regardless of background, and engage in real- world projects when teachers adopt CRC practices.

We are thrilled to share the release of 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘛𝘌𝘔: 𝘉𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘴 𝘊𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦. A productive and inspiring day of collaboration during our research workshop. It was a valuable opportunity to strengthen our team dynamic, exchange ideas, and advance our shared goals in education and research. Grateful for the dedication and insight of this incredible group.

Our team explained how we mentor and support our student researchers, how we identify team strengths to guide role assignments, and the editing and publishing process of our writing. We shared key insights into the research process—covering everything from submission criteria and methodology to the essential skills for success in the field. A great session full of learning, connection, and growth!
