300 students from Algonquin School District in Illinois will perform the world premiere of "Magical Forest," an original composition by Nubia Jaime-Donjuan.

The concert is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Jacobs High School, 2601 Bunker Hill Drive in Algonquin, IL

The debut album of the New York Youth Symphony, featuring some players who were in middle school, is up against recordings by some of the world’s top orchestras.

Congratulations to Berklee College of Music Indian Ensemble whose debut album “Shuruatt” — a cross-cultural collaboration of artists from 39 countries — has been nominated for a Grammy. The Indian Ensemble explores everything from Indian folk to Sufi traditions to Indo jazz and contemporary music led by director Annette Philip.
