ROCKLIN, Calif. – Freshman Ella Cory posted three goals and five steals in each game of Saturday’s action at the Whitney JV Season Opener girls’ water polo tournament, as St. Francis rolled past Bear River by a 14-5 final before falling to Casa Roble, 10-7, in the nightcap.

Four unanswered tuddies, including this Hope Sperber pick six, led St. Francis to a 26-13 win over Ponderosa in the 2026 flag football home opener during Back To School Night Thursday. The game has special meaning for new head coach Steve Montoya, who helped guide the Bruins to back-to-back section title games before arriving at Elvas Avenue this year.
