This talk will focus on how to integrate evidence-based methods and technological advancements in mental health across disciplines to personalize each patient’s trauma healing journey.

• Using the Trauma Lens to Support Challenged Youth
• Don Carney Youth Transforming Justice • Forest Suite (2nd floor)

This session focuses on understanding trauma’s impact on behavior and learning in order to support the development
of marginalized youth. Young people with unhealed childhood trauma can be preserved as disruptive, defiant, noncompliant, and/or delinquent. Learn how this misinformed interpretation and traditionally punitive or exclusionary approach to discipline subsequently re-traumatizes the child and contributes to intergenerational trauma.

• Adapting Therapy for Cognitive Disabilities • Dr. Haleigh Scott • Orchard Suite (2nd floor) City of Trees Assessment and Psychotherapy

This talk will focus on working with clients with intellectual disability or borderline intellectual functioning, and how to
adapt therapeutic techniques and practice.

• Understanding Intimate Partner Violence (IPV): Beyond the Obvious • Nil Buckley Vivus Counseling Services • Forest Suite (2nd floor)

The session will provide lessons on how to recognize the lesser-known forms of abuse and understand the clinical
pathways for healing. Topics include: differentiating between “relationship toxicity” or conflict and IPV or patterns of
coercion; understanding how trauma and shame impact victims; & key treatment considerations when working with
clients.

Our Counseling Clinic houses in the Center for Counseling and Diagnostic Services has been expanding partnerships and referral networks, one of which is with Single Mom Strong whom we are excited to work with. Our Clinic Supervisor Bailey Lecher Luke is presenting a copjng skills workshop.
