Students in the TSP are integrated with the greater campus community and are provided a wealth of resources, namely:

The Graduate Student Assistant (GSA) will provide general support with the
College Futures Foundation (CFF) grant by performing simple data entry and compiling simple statistical information. The GSA will report to the Director and Manager and provide general support to the CFF project team.

About CCR: Sacramento State’s Center for College & Career Readiness (CCR) works to create new pathways to college success by implementing regional partnerships with the primary goal of aligning curricula, expectations, and standards between K-12, the community colleges and Sacramento State. CCR’s focus is on students before they graduate from high school; those in the regional pipeline.

Job Description: The CCR Student Initiative Ambassador will provide support for the CCR staff, reporting to the Director and the Research & Technology Manager. The CCR Student Initiative Ambassador will perform outreach duties to high schools in partnering districts providing college & career readiness information and recruiting students for the CCR Summer Boot Camps. At these 2-day summer boot camps, rising 11th-grade high school students will be engaged in a number of interactive activities all aimed at improving their college and career readiness skills. The CCR Student Initiative Ambassador will lead the task of recruiting, promoting and coordinating logistics for these boot camps. They will also provide additional support to CCR staff as needed.

Duties: To provide college and career readiness information to high school juniors and seniors during CCR outreach opportunities (both verbal and written); to organize and execute various informational sessions to high school teachers, students, counselors, and administrators for the purpose of recruiting eligible students for the Summer Boot Camps.

Skills: Conscientious, self-starter, team player, efficient, reliable, outgoing with excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills; ability to use discretion when working with confidential material; ability to take initiative, and grasp the functions, roles and responsibilities within an office environment; excellent writing skills; superb MS Outlook and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
