Art Beast

ArtBeast is a drop in arts exploration space for children featuring an open studio, arts classes, and arts exploration rooms. Though all children are welcome to visit ArtBeast, special focus is given to creating an environment for children under 7. All the profits from Art Beast sustain Tubman House, a transitional living community for young parents experiencing homelessness and their children. The open studio features tables, easels, and clay mounds where young artists can work. Surrounding shelves are stocked with paint, papers, objects from nature, recycled tidbits, glues, crayons, glitter, scissors, an array of brushes, and an even wider offering of objects from which to make art. Children develop confidence in expressing and messing as they create art pieces that convey their sense of the world. Playspaces include a courtyard with sand and water play, a drama den with a tin can castle, stage and spaceship, an infant soft play space, a movement room, and a wooden loft and kitchen. Classes are included with admission. Classes include yoga, dance, drumming, art, Baby and Me art and song, song circle, and art workshops. For the same price you’ll pay monthly for a one-time-a-week, 45 minute children’s art class at many studios, you can join ArtBeast. Adult and Child Monthly Pass: $38 a month with annual contract ($60 a month without): Admits one child accompanied by an adult. Multiple adults can use the pass to accompany the same child. Family Monthly Pass: $48 a month with annual contract ($75 a month without): Admits one family’s children and accompanying adults. Art Beast is designed for children under 7, but older children are welcome to join younger siblings in the Open Studio.
