We end our week today, with a four-day weekend ahead. There is no school tomorrow (February 18) or Monday (February 21) as we will celebrate Presidents' Day! See you back at school on Tuesday, February 22.

Hazel Strauch is excited to announce the start of our Expanded Learning AM program. This incredible before-school program will enrich of lives of students and strengthen their academics. Space is limited so please fill out an interest form on the district website as soon as possible to secure your spot. The Expanded Learning AM program is focused on developing the academic, social, emotional and physical needs and interests of students through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. Research has shown that students who participate in expanded learning programs have improved educational outcomes, school attendance, and social emotional learning.

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a delightful break with family and friends. We are looking forward to a productive 2022!

We are excited to welcome our students back on campus 5 days a week starting Tuesday, August 17. School hours are 8:30am-3:12pm, with breakfast starting at 7:45am. Rest up this weekend, Falcons! We can't wait to see you!

Rio Tierra's Incoming 7th-grade Parent Night is occurring this Thursday, April 15th, 2021 from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM on Zoom. The ZOOM Meeting ID is 997 7915 4366. A few weeks ago, Rio Tierra sent home a welcome letter to each of the families from Hazel Strauch who will be attending Rio Tierra next year as 7th-graders with the information for the Parent Night. Hope to see you there!

We are excited to start our new hybrid schedule tomorrow, April 6!

For Cohort A students, we will see you in-person tomorrow morning with the gates opening at 8:15am. School starts at 8:30am. For parents dropping off and picking up with a car, please remind your child to look for your vehicle at 11:11am when school is dismissed. This will help us clear campus safely and efficiently. Remember parents, only students are allowed inside the gates, and Strauch staff will be ready to help your child get to their classroom.

For Cohort B and C students, school will also start at 8:30am, but will be online. At 8:30am, Cohort B and C students will begin working on their asynchronous assignments. Then, their online Zoom with their teacher will start in the afternoon at 12:31pm. Again, all Cohort B and C students will be online with their teacher using Zoom at 12:31pm starting tomorrow April 6.

Finally, we want to thank all the families that attended our Parent Meeting on March 24, we had over 135 parents attend! During that meeting we went over important details for all cohorts. We encourage parents that were not able to attend to go to our school website at strauch.twinriversusd.org and click on the link under “HYBRID LEARNING BEGINS APRIL 6” to access the presentation. The presentation includes student schedules, meal distribution, and much more. Thank you parents for your continued support, and look forward to working with to ensure our students finish the year strong.

Just a reminder: there is no school Friday, February 12 and Monday, February 15 in observance of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln's Birthdays. Enjoy the four-day weekend!
