It's happening tonight! Join us tonight as we welcome Charmaine Lawson, director of "Unsolves Hate: Arcata" Courtney Wagner, and J4J Committee member Jill Larrabee!
David Josiah Lawson was recruited by CSU Humboldt. They went out of their way to convince him that if he attended their university, they would protect him and offer him the resources he needed to succeed.
After he was stabbed outside a party in the white neighborhoods of Arcata, Arcata police let him bleed out while they worked on crowd control, even though a hospital was less than a mile away. CSU Humboldt, which recruited Josiah has left his family without support.
Join us on October 18th as we remember Josiah and screen the documentary “Unsolved Hate: Arcata” and share space with his mom Charmaine Lawson.
We will not forget the injustice done to Josiah, which is an injustice to all students of color. These institutions were not built for us, they do not represent us, and in times of tragedy, they are quick to abandon us.
REST IN POWER JOSIAH!
