We are proud to have hosted the UC Davis Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) bootcamp Feb. 18-20, welcoming senior pediatric critical care fellows from across the country.

The three-day program featured hands-on, simulation-based training designed to help fellows prepare for the transition to attending physician roles — building confidence, leadership and critical decision-making skills in the PICU. 👩‍⚕️🩺

UC Davis PICU hosts one of nation’s few bootcamps for senior pediatric critical care fellows The UC Davis Pediatric Intensive Care Unit held a bootcamp to train senior pediatric critical care fellows from across the country.

We’re thrilled to see this incredible Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) program rolling out in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)! What’s especially exciting is that NICU providers, fellows and nurse practitioners have completed comprehensive POCUS training — including hands-on simulation and supervised credentialing — to ensure the highest standards of precision and care for newborns. 👶 Fun to see simulation being used to drive innovation and elevate the quality of neonatal care! 💙

Our NICU has launched a groundbreaking portable ultrasound program that helps health care providers quickly assess critically ill newborns right at the hospital bedside.

The Point-of-Care Ultrasound program, also known as POCUS, puts UC Davis Children's Hospital at the forefront of innovative neonatal care in the region and among a select few institutions nationwide.

"Seeing is believing. POCUS empowers clinicians to make rapid, informed decisions at the bedside, especially in critical situations where every second counts," said Yogen Singh, Neonatologist and Point-of-Care Ultrasound Program Director.

Today at the simulation center, interns honed their pediatric skills through hands-on training sessions. 👶 From practicing airway support to mastering IV insertion, these future clinicians are gaining essential experience in a safe, high-fidelity environment designed to prepare them for real-world pediatric care. 💉

🩺 Today marked the first-ever General Surgery Simulation Olympics, where residents put their laparoscopic and suturing skills to the ultimate test. 🏅 From precision to speed, these residents demonstrated impressive skill and dedication throughout the educational event. Congratulations to all the winners!

Meet some of the heroes behind our Pediatric Transport Team! 🚑 These highly skilled professionals travel far and wide to bring critically ill infants, adolescents and teenagers to the UC Davis Children's Hospital. This week, they sharpened their skills in the simulation center, running through complex transport scenarios to ensure every patient gets the safest and most compassionate care possible.

We enjoyed hosting the UC Davis Department of Emergency Medicine for their Ultrasonic Olympics Day! We must say, the sweat bands are truly a nice touch👌
