UC Davis Health team uses AI to predict risk of liver cancer 02/29/2024

Exciting research for liver cancer prediction in patients with Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD)! Clinicians and Data Scientists in the Center for Precision Medicine & Data Sciences at UC Davis Health have harnessed the power of Artificial Intelligence to revolutionize the early detection of liver cancer.

CPMDS researchers created a predictive model using UC Davis data, validated against UCSF Information Commons, proving that models can be generalized across institutions, paving the way for collaborative advancements in healthcare. The findings of the team’s research has been published in the in the journal Gastro Hep Advances.

We have some big announcements from the Center. First we want to congratulate our CAO and resident Star Wars fanatic, Chris Wang, on his new role as Director of Research Administration in the School of Medicine Office of Research. Chris has been at the Center for almost 7 years and was integral to getting the Center up and running. We’ll miss having him on our team but will surely cross paths again when we are in need of pre-award help with grants!
