Caleb Cougars Take Action! Friday, November 8, 2024

We are two weeks away from our first opportunity of the year to participate in the Sacramento Loaves and Fishes Breakfast Program! This local nonprofit offers a daily breakfast program where guests experiencing homelessness or food insecurity can gather for food and coffee. Our school community will provide the food and fill and serve the breakfast bags on Friday, November 8.

You and your child/ren can help by donating food, helping to serve breakfast, or both! Intermediate students can help make sandwiches on campus on 11/07 during lunchtime.

***Volunteer Note: Students are welcome to serve one time per school year (to give more students the opportunity to serve)

This year we are exploring art through Action! Students recently expressed issues important to them through symbols and printmaking. Important issues ranged from family to animals to the environment and even preventing wildfires. Way to Take Action through Art, Cougars!

(student artwork is added to student portfolios and displayed in the spring at Open House).

This local nonprofit offers a daily breakfast program where guests experiencing homelessness or food insecurity can gather for breakfast and coffee. Our school community will provide the food and fill and serve the breakfast bags on Thursday, May 23.

You can help by donating food, helping to serve breakfast at Loaves and Fishes, or both! Intermediate students can help make sandwiches on campus on 05/22 during lunchtime.

***Volunteer Note: Students are welcome to serve one time per school year (so more students can have the opportunity to serve)

Thank you to our amazing art teacher and muralist, Erica Thomas, for facilitating another fabulous 6th grade mural! Designs were taken from student Zentangles art designs created with Ms. Thomas during art class.

The Día Reading Celebration began today with Drop Everything And Read (D.E.A.R.) with your Buddy Class! Our Día Fundraiser also continues this week and next. Please continue to donate to fund Action Center books and media equipment students love!

El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day), commonly known as Día, is a celebration of children, families, and reading. The celebration emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. It is a daily commitment to linking children and their families to diverse books, languages and cultures.

This is a local nonprofit that offers a daily breakfast program where guests experiencing homelessness or food insecurity can gather for breakfast and coffee. Our school community will provide the food, fill and serve the breakfast bags at Loaves and Fishes on Thursday, February 22, 2024. You can help by donating food, helping to serve breakfast or both! Intermediate students can help make sandwiches on campus on 02/21 during lunchtime.

***Volunteer Note: In order to allow for as many students the option to serve as possible, students are welcome to serve one time per school year (unless more volunteers are needed).
