Back to school can be a hectic time for a lot of families. Here at Kovar’s, we teach our kids not only useful habits on the mat, but off the mat as well, showing them the proper steps they can take to ensure that there school year is a successful one.

If your child avoids eye contact, it’s likely due to discomfort, not disrespect.

➡️ Eye contact is a skill that can be learned.

Boost their confidence by practicing
✅ Polite greetings
✅ Standing tall
✅ Using a firm handshake

Encourage them to look directly in the eyes and repeat the person’s name. Practicing at home with family can help ease social anxiety.
