It's time to Rock The Blues!

05/25/2026

This day belongs to the men and women who gave everything in service to their country.

It belongs to the ones who never came home.

It belongs to the families who still carry that empty chair, that missing voice, that name they say quietly because it still hurts.

So today, we are simply taking a moment to remember what this day means.

Freedom has a cost.

Some paid all of it.

To every family who has lost someone in service to this country, we honor them with you today.

Respectfully

Music changes lives—but only if it’s heard.

For years, Sacramento Blues Society’s Blues in the Schools program has brought live music, history, and mentorship directly into classrooms. Students don’t just learn about the blues—they experience it. They hear the stories behind the sound, see working musicians up close, and discover a form of expression that’s raw, real, and deeply human.
And here’s the part that matters: for many of these kids, this is their first real connection to live music.
This program isn’t about nostalgia. It’s about impact. Studies consistently show that music education improves focus, confidence, and emotional development. We see it firsthand every time a student lights up during a performance or asks their first question about an instrument.

But none of this happens without support.

As a nonprofit, every dollar we receive goes directly into keeping this program alive—bringing artists into schools, covering transportation, and expanding access to more students across our community. Your donation is tax-deductible, but more importantly, it’s an investment in creativity, education, and opportunity.
If you believe music should be experienced—not just streamed… If you believe students deserve access to something that can truly move them…

Please consider donating today.
Help us keep the blues alive where it matters most—right in the classroom.
