🌿🧩 Celebrating 5 Years with Discovery Tree! 🧩🌿

Today we’re celebrating Grace from our Tad Lane school, who has been part of the Discovery Tree family for 5 wonderful years! 💚🎉

Grace brings a special Montessori background and philosophy to her work with children. She began her journey with us as a Toddler Teacher and has since found a special place working with our school-age children. 📚✨

Grace loves helping our school-age friends with their homework and has even shared her love of crocheting, teaching the children how to create something with their own hands! 🧶💕

She also has a passion for puzzles and has inspired our students to discover just how much fun a good puzzle can be. 🧩💡

One of Grace’s favorite things to do is nature-based art. 🌿🍂 She encourages the children to collect items from nature, explore them, and then incorporate their discoveries into creative art projects. It’s a wonderful way to connect children with the natural world while encouraging curiosity and creativity. 🎨🌱

We are so grateful for the creativity, patience, and unique experiences Grace brings to our Tad Lane community every day!

🎉💚 Celebrating 21 Years with Discovery Tree! 💚🎉

Today, we are celebrating an incredible milestone for Corrin—21 years with Discovery Tree! 🌳✨

Corrin began her Discovery Tree journey at our H Street school as a preschool teacher. She soon moved over to the infant program, where she became the Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher, a role she held for many years. Her passion for children, dedication to families, and leadership quickly became evident, and she was promoted to Director of our Elk Grove school. 🍼💕

Two years ago, Corrin took on another exciting role as Regional Director of Discovery Tree! 🌟 Today, she continues to lead our Elk Grove school while also overseeing, supporting, and mentoring our teams at our other locations.

For 21 years, Corrin has poured her heart into Discovery Tree, helping children, families, and teachers grow along the way. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication, leadership, and commitment to early childhood education. 💚

📚🚒 September Is Here at Discovery Tree & Arista Schools! 🍎👮‍♀️

We’re kicking off a new month of learning, growing, and building our community! ❤️💙

Our September theme is COMMUNITY HELPERS, and our classrooms will be busy learning about the amazing people who help keep our neighborhoods safe, healthy, clean, and happy! 👩‍🚒👮‍♂️👩‍⚕️👷‍♀️📬

Throughout the month, our children will explore:
✨ Community-helper dramatic play
🎨 Art and sensory activities
📚 Books and songs about different careers
🔥 Fire safety and community safety
🚒 Community-helper tools and vehicles
💭 Conversations about what they want to be when they grow up!

We’ll also be learning about our color of the month: RED ❤️ and our shape of the month: OCTAGON 🛑, including the familiar STOP sign!

Families can join in the fun at home by pointing out community helpers you see while you're out and about and talking with your child about what they do and how they help us. 💕

Fun question to ask your child:
“If you could be any community helper, who would you be?” 👩‍🚒👨‍⚕️👮‍♀️👷‍♂️

📚✨ Small Groups Are Back at Our Elk Grove School! ✨📚

Our Pre-K friends jumped right back into small groups and are already hard at work practicing the skills they’ll need as they get ready for Kindergarten next year! 🎓💛

Each week, our children will focus on a new letter—learning its sound, practicing how to write it, and working on writing their names. They’ll also be building their early math skills through counting activities and strengthening those important fine motor skills that support writing, cutting, and so much more! ✏️✂️🔢

We love watching our Pre-K learners grow in confidence, independence, and excitement as they prepare for their next big adventure! 🌟

Way to go, Pre-K! We’re so proud of you! 💛🌳

🌟 GROWING TOGETHER: OUR ANNUAL TEACHER INSERVICE DAY! 🌟

This month, our Discovery Tree & Arista Schools team came together for one of our annual Teacher Inservice Days! 💛

Throughout the year, we set aside special days where our entire team has the opportunity to step away from the classroom, connect with one another, participate in training, collaborate, and strengthen the amazing community we are building together. 🤝✨

This time around, we focused on:

📚 Discovery Tree Basics – Revisiting the foundation of who we are and what makes our schools special.

🏫 Classroom Management – Sharing strategies, ideas, and tools to create positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environments.

🤝 Building a Stronger Community – Working together to strengthen communication, collaboration, and teamwork across all of our schools.

Our inservice days are more than just training—they are an opportunity to learn from one another, grow as educators, and remember that we are all part of one big Discovery Tree & Arista Schools family. 🌱💚

We are so grateful for our incredible teachers and the dedication they bring to our children every day. We’re proud to continue learning, growing, and getting better together! 💕✨
