Boxer and Sac State alum Janelle Gonzales fights for youth after rising from hardship Overcoming a childhood steeped in drugs and violence, Janelle Gonzales is a social work manager and owner of a boxing gym aimed at helping underserved youths succeed.

The Basic needs resource Center is now OPEN! This new on-campus space providing free groceries, clothing, toiletries, parenting supplies, and couch-surfing kits to any currently enrolled student experiencing housing or food insecurities. They can also connect Hornets with CalFresh, housing resources, and other campus support services. All services are offered with dignity, confidentiality, and without barriers.
